THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR MUSEUM VOLUNTEERS
ANNOUNCES NEW VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Washington, DC (September 1, 2009) – The American Association of Museum Volunteers (AAMV) is pleased to announce the creation of an annual AAMV Volunteer of the Year Award. This new national award recognizes the key role volunteers play in museums and cultural institutions and showcases outstanding achievement in volunteer service.
The AAMV is seeking
candidates who show exceptional commitment to their organization, a commitment
to civic engagement and giving back to their community, and who serves as
a leader and role model for others.

AAMV is the only national association which represents thousands of volunteers and volunteer managers in all categories of museums. AAMV is affiliated nationally with the American Association of Museums (AAM) and internationally with the US Federation of Friends of Museums (USFFM).
